Some Drills on a Wed. afternoon.

Day 3 of Blogging & I am still full of energy.  I was able to spend 30 full minutes with my 2 sons practicing some basic running back drills.  My youngest, we will just call him, "Lil' Bear" wants to play RB & my eldest just wanted to get out there with us to practice so I wasn't about to say no.

Although they have both already played one season of flag football it's still great to be able to be out there with them & work on the basics.  It's amazing to me how many little things you can actually work on just in 3 plays.  I mean, a simple handoff is really quite technical if you really think about it.  There are so many little things that can and sometimes do go wrong if the technique is not worked on PROPERLY.

The good thing is that we made it 30 minutes straight & they listened... Now, I am not trying to sound like my children don't normally listen to me but me putting on the "Coaching Hat" & being a teacher is different than being DADDY.

I can feel that this is going to be great for all of us.  I am even trying to block out the fact that my son said, "You don't know that much about football"... NICE... Real Nice!  Why my son thinks he knows more about football than me is pretty simple.  Because he's a kid & kids always know more about everything than their antiquated parents.  The point is that I let him believe that he knows more than me just so that he can be in awe of his younger brothers team when they break the huddle in unison & line up like little champions.

"I got this!", says my Lil' Bear as I tell him which hand signal means that I'm calling an audible...  LOL!!!

Kids... Football... Life... It's all good!
